Springtime means it’s time for Spring cleaning – which includes cleaning the dogs! We like to bathe our dogs outside, so they rarely get bathed in the Winter when it’s cold outside. But when the weather warms up in March, we usually give each dog their first bath of the year!
With three large dogs living in our house, we are always searching for quality grooming products! We were very excited for the chance to review Happy Pet Brand’s grooming kit. The kit we received included Shampoo & Conditioner from Happy Pet’s Clean Collection, Pawsome! Paw Moisturizer from Happy’ Pet’s Fresh Pet Collection, and Hot Dog! Sun Protection Spray from Happy Pet’s Active Pet Collection.
First thoughts
My first thought about this kit is I really like the branding and packaging! It looks fun, and I love the different colors for each of their collections. I think it’s very smart to sell their products as a whole kit, since they are likely items most dog owners will buy individually. At $6 per product above, I feel like that is a very good price compared to other grooming products.
Shampoo & Conditioner
The scent of the shampoo and conditioner is Lemongrass & Rosemary Mint, which smells fresh and clean! One thing I like in shampoo products is being able to generate suds from a little bit of shampoo, and the Happy Pet shampoo did not disappoint. It was very easy to distribute the shampoo throughout Ryker’s coat and quickly rinsed out without any residue.
We love using conditioner on our dogs after shampooing, but we have found that most dog conditioners are difficult to apply evenly throughout their coats. This conditioner by Happy Pet is the consistency of human conditioner and was just as easy to apply. I could feel where it had already been applied, so it was very easy to spread out evenly. As recommended on the bottle, we left the product in for 5 minutes to really condition her coat. Like the shampoo, it rinsed right out with water!
After drying, Ryker’s coat was soft and smelled amazing! I really think the shampoo did a great job cleaning her coat, and the conditioner did a great job at conditioning her coat.
Paw Moisturizer
Koba’s paws quickly become cracked and dry if we don’t regularly apply moisturizer to them, so we were very excited to try Happy Pet’s paw moisturizer! The first thing we noticed about this particular one is the consistency is much different than other brands. Other brands we tried were made of oil that quickly became messy, especially with Koba’s hairy toes.
Happy Pet’s moisturizer is the consistency of human lotion. This means that not much was needed, and it went on smoothly without a mess. I just put a dab on his pad, and rubbed it in. Very easy! Plus, the first ingredient is water so if it gets on his hair, it doesn’t cause an oily mess! We have been using this often for the past week, and we have already noticed an improvement in his paw pads.
All in all, we are very happy with the products in this kit! We highly recommend these as individual product and for those looking for a full grooming kit. We did not have a chance to test out the Sun Protection Spray, but will be trying that out this Summer!
