My Dog Eats Better Than Me | Shameless Pets Dog Treats Review

By September 1, 2018July 2nd, 2019No Comments

Raise your hand if your dog eats better than you do! From lobster, to pumpkin, to egg and cheese, blueberries, and apple, Shameless Pets is certainly raising the standard for dog treats! Without a doubt, the pet food industry has greatly improved over the past few years. More and more companies are looking for innovative ways for pet parents to keep their fur babies happy and healthy.

About the brand

Dogs do not waste food! Seriously, have you seen some of the things they put in their mouths? Inspired, Shameless Pets founders searched for a way to reuse perfectly good food that would normally go to waste. Their mission was simple: create natural, superfood-infused dog treats that would satisfy the cravings of even the hungriest of pets.

Shameless Pets promotes the long and healthy life of your beloved pet, promising grain free, soy free, corn free, GMO-free, and no artificial ingredients in their yummy treats. These power-packed ingredients help contribute to healthy coats, teeth, skin, digestion, and overall health!

What does upcycled mean?

The food industry is largely based on appearances, not on taste or nutritional value. Due to this, over 1 billion tons of food is tossed in the trash each year. Upcycled food is simply the nutritionally dense food that would have never made it to the store shelves. This not only provides income to farmers, it saves resources and helps the environment. Shameless Pets pride themselves in using over 20% of upcycled ingredients in their treats.

Shameless Pets rescue more than just food. They donate a portion of their profits to national organizations that work to rescue pets from harm or destruction.

Our Review

Our pup, Navy is an incredibly picky eater. If you follow our social media accounts, you would know that we struggle to find things this diva dog will like. In order to keep this review fair, we allowed our neighbor, @Chancetheyapperrr to sample the treats as well.

LOBSTER ROLL (OVER)

When we first saw these treats we knew we had to try them. We’ve never seen dog treats like these before! Lobster is the upcycled ingredient, which adds a boost of Omega 3, 6 and 9 for a healthy coat and skin. These tasty treats are high in protein so both Navy and Chance absolutely devoured them.

Navy’s Rating: 10/10
Chance’s Rating: 10/10

APPLENOON DELIGHT

Shameless Pets combined apples, peanut butter, pea protein, and a dash of turmeric to create these yummy treats. Turmeric is a great antioxidant and natural aid for reducing joint inflammation in dogs. Navy and Chance enjoyed these crunchy treats!

Navy’s Rating: 10/10
Chance’s Rating: 10/10

BLUEBERRIED TREASURE

Blueberries add an amazing boost of antioxidants and collagen for joint health. Shameless Pets took this superfood and added flaxseed, and ground beets to make this soft-baked treat. Navy is not the biggest fan of blueberries, so we were certainly interested to see if she would enjoy these treats. As always, Chance gulped his down, while Navy took a little longer to finish her treat.

Navy’s Rating: 8/10
Chance’s Rating: 10/10

BREAK AN EGG

Shameless Pets wanted to create a breakfast themed treat to help boost pups’ energy in the morning. This egg and cheese soft-baked treat is boosted with calcium for bone health. Navy is always cautious when trying new treats. She took a few minutes to sniff her treat out and taste it before eventually finishing it. Chance could not get enough of this yummy breakfast treat!

Navy’s Rating: 6/10
Chance’s Rating: 10/10
